Beautiful antique Nippon teapot featuring a white porcelain base with hand-painted raised gold moriage leaves and floral motifs. The piece is richly trimmed in gold with textured raised detailing, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of early Japanese porcelain artistry.
The underside is marked with an M in a wreath and a crown symbol, along with the words Hand Painted and Nippon identifying the maker, to the best of my research, as the Morimura Gumi who produced fine porcelain between 1911 and 1921.
This discontinued pattern appears to have been made only during that period, making this teapot a rare and highly collectible example of antique Nippon porcelain.
