9th century French Tulip vase from Rouen was cast in a unique shape from local clays then masterfully shaped by the artisans of Rouen, known across Europe for their provincial, unique colorations and designs. Cobalt blue, mustard yellow and a rich olive green were hand-painted to decorate the piece, which includes four places to put tulips, as well as a central urn opening that one can use to add water before decorating with more flowers, circa 1870s Measures: 8 height x 10 in diameter.
